Overview
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer / QA Lead (STC) who is passionate about end-to-end quality engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL, backend testing, Java, Selenium, REST Assured, and ICEDQ, with a focus on delivering reliable quality across front-end, backend, and API solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end testing across front-end applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and data flows.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Java, Selenium, and REST Assured.
- Create advanced SQL queries to validate backend data, transformations, integrations, and reconciliation results.
- Use ICEDQ or comparable data-testing tools to verify data quality and backend processing.
- Develop test strategies, plans, scenarios, cases, traceability, and evidence for complex releases.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, API, backend, and end-to-end testing independently.
- Lead task coordination with offshore team members, monitor progress, and remove delivery blockers.
- Communicate quality status, risks, defects, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to clients.
- Partner with developers, product stakeholders, business analysts, and other delivery teams throughout the lifecycle.
- Lead defect triage and root-cause analysis while driving automation improvements and quality best practices.
- Mentor team members and provide technical guidance when needed.
Qualifications
- Senior-level quality engineering experience with demonstrated lead capabilities and independent ownership.
- Very strong SQL skills, including complex joins, backend validation, reconciliation, and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with end-to-end testing across front-end, backend, API, and database layers.
- Hands-on test automation experience using Java, Selenium, and REST Assured.
- Strong backend testing experience, including database, service-level, and integration validation.
- Ability to lead tasks, coordinate an offshore team, and manage delivery priorities independently.
- Strong client-facing communication, stakeholder management, and written documentation skills.
- English proficiency at B2+ level or higher.
- Must be based in Colombia.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience in software engineering, systems engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Preferred: Experience using ICEDQ or a comparable data-quality testing platform.
- Preferred: Experience mentoring QA engineers or leading a QA workstream.
